ICP and XRF analyzes are applied to the scrap platinum laboratory equipment which completes the working life. Those found to be contaminated are removed and subjected to wet chemical refining process. Pure platinum, gold, rhodium etc. obtained. metals are melted under vacuum and alloyed in the desired analysis.
